Motif Backgammon is a Java applet that allows Internet user to play backgammon with a computer. You need a web browser that supports Java, in order to play Motif backgammon. It may take several minutes Motif backgammon to be uploaded, so please be patient.

If you see this message, then your web browser does not support Java and you will not be able to play Motif backgammon.


INSTRUCTIONS:

• When Motif Backgammon loads you will see "Welcome to Motif Backgammon!" Click the "Ok" button. Then click the "Start a Game" button and Motif will roll the dice. You are always White and Motif is always Red.
• If Motif is the first to go, you will see a message saying "Motif is thinking . . ." and after a seconds the red checkers will move. Then click "Ok" and then click "Roll Dice" to start your turn.
• If you are the first to go move your checkers by dragging the mouse. Once moved click "Ok" to complete your turn. Otherwise, click "Cancel" to change your play.

you're game cheats when i have half of my chips on my side and maybe 3 or 4 on his and he's almost finish he gets 6 points no doubles but when i do it i get 2 points no doubles if i am ahead of motif by maybe 9 points i lose everygame until he either catches up or bids hi and beats me i can allways predicts his rolls.

This is the worst game for cheating I've ever seen...except for the old POGO game a few years ago... it acted very similar. Whenever you double the cube, regardless of whether it is appropriate to do so or not, the odds misteriously move to Motif's favor either for the next several moves or for the rest of the game.

Here's another example of how bent this game is. On the bar, 6 is the only point open, I "roll" 5,4. Motif clears point 5, I roll 4,3. I think you can gues the next bit - I did, with points 4, 5 and 6 open, I roll 3,2. I just suppose I am "unlucky". Unlucky to be duped by a crock of cheating shit. I have probabliy played over 2 thousand games on this site and I have never played an opponent in over 50 years that is able to throw such miraculous rolls, so much so that I can confidently predict what the game will roll for itself. How can this be random. But what gets me even more is that the authors of this game insist that it is because we are all poor players.My advice to new players is don't play this site. It is corrupt and will ruin your enjoyment of backgammon. I understand that Tom Keith endorsed a number of gambling sites. I would advise you to stay clear. Corruption in one part of ones life usually carries over to others.
